The PARALLEL_DEGREE_POLICY initialization parameter has new possible value in 12C i.e ADAPTIVE, it has the same functionality as of AUTO in addition to it, Oracle may re-evaluate the statement in order to provide a better degree of parallelism for subsequent executions based on feedback gathered during statement execution.
